Our Prayers Were Heard and Answered

This is the story of how we almost perfomed without a piano in the Tabernacle. (I told this story to my relatives on My Family.com, but I wanted to tell it here and include the pics to go along with the story)

We met in the Tabernacle at 3:00 on Saturday -November 1st, to do a dress rehersal of our concert. The Tabernacle Choir had been recording a new album all morning and finished a half hour ahead of schedule so we were able to get in and set up earlier than we were previously told. Exciting...because singing in the Tabernacle takes a little getting used to.

Time comes to put the grand piano in place for the performance and the lift to move the piano won't work! It was two floors below and needed to be brought up to stage level.
We had 3 organ numbers, but the rest of our numbers were performed with piano accompaniment. So....we began our dress rehearsal with a very fervent prayer for peace and calm, strong voices, clear minds and a lift to work so the piano could be in place for the concert. We proceeded to practice everything we could that didn't require the piano,

lift still not working...
practice the speaking parts, lift still not working...

mic check with all soloists, lift still not working...
bring in a keyboard to run through the piano numbers, lift still not working...
try 364 women singing to the accompaniment of a keyboard, can't hear it, lift still not working...and so on.

It's now 4:45,concert begins at 5:30 and the lift suddenly came to life!!! We quickly exited to let the stage crew do their job without distractions and the grand piano was lifted into place...
tuned...sound checked and ready to go at 5:20!

Throughout our 10 weeks together our fervent prayers were always heard and answered by our loving Heavenly Father.
